Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground veal
  • 1 ounce taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup taco blend cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 16 ounces refrigerated crescent rolls (2 cans, 8 oz each)
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven โ€“ Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) so itโ€™s ready for baking the crescent ring.
  2. Cook the Veal โ€“ Add ground veal to a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until the veal is fully cooked through and no longer pink.
  3. Season the Meat โ€“ Add taco seasoning mix and water to the cooked veal. Stir well to combine, then simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  4. Prepare Crescent Dough โ€“ Unroll both cans of crescent dough and separate them into 16 triangles. Let the dough soften slightly at room temperature for easier handling.
  5. Arrange Dough on Baking Sheet โ€“ Spray a large cookie sheet with non-stick spray. Arrange the triangles into a circle, with the shorter sides forming a 5-inch circle in the middle and the points facing outward. The dough will overlap.
  6. Add Filling โ€“ Evenly distribute the veal mixture around the ring on the widest part of each triangle. Sprinkle the sliced green onions and shredded taco blend cheese over the meat.
  7. Fold and Seal โ€“ Fold the pointed end of each triangle over the filling and tuck it underneath the inside of the ring. This will help secure the filling inside the crescent dough.
  8. Egg Wash โ€“ Whisk the egg in a small bowl and brush the top of the crescent dough with it for a shiny, golden finish.
  9. Bake โ€“ Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent ring is golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Cool and Serve โ€“ Let the crescent ring cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite taco toppings.

Notes

  • This recipe can be served as a fun appetizer for gatherings.
  • Serve with side dishes like roasted spicy sweet potatoes or maple glazed Brussels sprouts to complete the meal.
  • Customize your toppings to fit your taco preferences.
