Description

Tiktok Spaghetti is a delicious layered pasta casserole featuring creamy Alfredo-coated spaghetti topped with a savory ground beef red sauce and melted mozzarella. This comforting dish combines rich flavors and textures, baked to bubbly perfection, making it a crowd-pleaser for family meals or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Red Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, ribs and seeds removed, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef, 80/20
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 (24-ounce) jars spaghetti sauce

Pasta:

  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 16 ounces spaghetti

Alfredo Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Sauce: Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add 1 cup chopped onion and 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper and sauté until translucent. Stir in 1 tablespoon minced garlic and cook until fragrant for 1-2 minutes. Add 1 pound ground beef and cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease, then season with 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, 3/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning. Stir in 1 1/2 jars (36 ounces) of spaghetti sauce and set aside.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, adding 1 tablespoon salt. Cook 16 ounces of spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
  3. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In a separate pan, melt 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter over low heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour and stir constantly for 1 minute to form a roux. Remove the pan from heat and slowly whisk in 2 cups heavy cream until smooth. Return to heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
  4. Combine Pasta with Alfredo: Toss the drained spaghetti with the Alfredo sauce, ensuring the pasta is evenly coated. Spread the coated pasta evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Assemble and Bake: Pour the red sauce evenly over the Alfredo-coated spaghetti layer, taking care not to mix the layers. Sprinkle 2 cups mozzarella cheese evenly on top. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the casserole is bubbly.
  6. Serve: Let the casserole cool for 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of dried Italian seasoning. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner alternative to ground beef.
  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the red sauce.
  • Freshly grated parmesan cheese gives the best flavor in the Alfredo sauce.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
  • To save time, precooked pasta or jarred Alfredo sauce can be alternatives, but fresh sauce is recommended for best taste.
