Description

This refreshing Strawberry Agua Fresca is a perfect summer drink that’s easy to make and bursting with fruity flavors. Made with fresh strawberries, lime juice, and a hint of sweetness, it’s a delightful beverage for any occasion.


Ingredients

For the Strawberry Mixture:

  • 1 lb. fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice (from 1 lime)

For Serving:

  • 4 cups water
  • Ice
  • Mint sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Macerate the strawberries: Add the berries and sugar to a bowl. Toss to combine and let sit at room temperature, tossing occasionally, for an hour.
  2. Blend the macerated strawberries: Add the berry-sugar mixture and lime juice to a blender or food processor and process on high until fully blended, 1-2 minutes.
  3. Strain the berry mixture: Set a fine mesh strainer over a large pitcher. Pour the strawberry mixture into the strainer and stir to help the liquid fall into the pitcher. Discard solids.
  4. Add water: Add four cups of water to the pitcher. Taste for sweetness and add more sugar if desired.
  5. Chill, and serve: Chill until cold, about 2 hours, and serve over ice. Garnish each glass with a mint sprig.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness level by adding more or less sugar according to your taste preference.
  • For a twist, try adding a splash of sparkling water for some fizz.
