For the Strawberry Mixture:
- 1 lb. fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice (from 1 lime)
For Serving:
- 4 cups water
- Ice
- Mint sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
- Macerate the strawberries: Add the berries and sugar to a bowl. Toss to combine and let sit at room temperature, tossing occasionally, for an hour.
- Blend the macerated strawberries: Add the berry-sugar mixture and lime juice to a blender or food processor and process on high until fully blended, 1-2 minutes.
- Strain the berry mixture: Set a fine mesh strainer over a large pitcher. Pour the strawberry mixture into the strainer and stir to help the liquid fall into the pitcher. Discard solids.
- Add water: Add four cups of water to the pitcher. Taste for sweetness and add more sugar if desired.
- Chill, and serve: Chill until cold, about 2 hours, and serve over ice. Garnish each glass with a mint sprig.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness level by adding more or less sugar according to your taste preference.
- For a twist, try adding a splash of sparkling water for some fizz.
