Description

These Shamrock Shake Pudding Shots are a festive and creamy adult dessert drink that combines the nostalgic flavor of a vanilla shake with the minty zest of Baileys Vanilla Mint Shake Liqueur. Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, this no-bake pudding shot recipe is quick to prepare, featuring a smooth pudding base enhanced with cool whip and a hint of green food coloring, garnished with whipped cream and maraschino cherries for a delightful finishing touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Pudding Base

  • 3.4 oz Sonic Vanilla Shake Instant Pudding
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Vanilla Mint Shake Liqueur
  • a drop of green food coloring (optional)

Mix-ins and Garnishes

  • 8 oz Cool Whip (thawed)
  • Whipped cream for garnish
  • Maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix pudding and milk: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the Sonic Vanilla Shake instant pudding mix with the whole milk until well combined.
  2. Add Baileys liqueur: Slowly whisk in the Baileys Vanilla Mint Shake Liqueur to the pudding mixture ensuring it’s fully incorporated.
  3. Thicken the mixture: Continue whisking the mixture for about 3 minutes until it starts to thicken. If you want a more vibrant green color, add a drop of green food coloring at this stage and mix thoroughly.
  4. Fold in Cool Whip: Gently fold the thawed Cool Whip into the pudding mixture to maintain a light and airy texture without deflating the whipped topping.
  5. Blend until smooth: After folding, whisk the mixture gently until it becomes smooth and uniform in consistency.
  6. Chill the pudding: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the pudding to set and flavors to meld.
  7. Portion into glasses: Once chilled, evenly divide the pudding mixture into shot glasses or small serving cups. Return them to the fridge and chill further for about 3 hours until fully set.
  8. Garnish and serve: Just before serving, top each pudding shot with a dollop of whipped cream and a maraschino cherry for a festive presentation.

Notes

  • Use whole milk for the creamiest texture; however, 2% milk can be used if preferred.
  • The green food coloring is optional and mainly for aesthetic appeal.
  • Keep pudding shots refrigerated until serving to maintain consistency and food safety.
  • Can be prepared a day in advance to allow the flavors to meld perfectly.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the Baileys and substitute with additional milk or a mint-flavored syrup.
