Description
Indulgent brownies stuffed with a whole Reese’s peanut butter cup in every square! This easy pantry-friendly dessert starts with your favorite brownie mix and a handful of peanut butter cups for an ooey-gooey treat that’s ready in less than an hour.
Ingredients
Scale
Baking Mix
- 1 (18 ounce / 510 g) box of your favorite brownie mix
- Ingredients as required by the brownie mix (typically eggs, water, and oil, refer to your box instructions)
Filling
- 16 Reese's peanut butter cups
Instructions
- Prepare Pan – Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan with cooking spray and line with parchment paper, letting some hang over the sides for easy removal later. Set aside.
- Mix Brownie Batter – In a mixing bowl, prepare the brownie batter according to your favorite box mix’s instructions. Make sure everything is well combined and smooth.
- Layer First Half Batter – Pour half of the prepared brownie batter into the greased and lined pan. Spread it into an even layer with a spatula, ensuring the corners are filled.
- Add Peanut Butter Cups – Arrange the 16 Reese’s peanut butter cups on top of the batter in a 4×4 grid. They should be evenly spaced so each future square brownie will have a cup center.
- Add Remaining Batter – Pour the rest of the brownie batter over the peanut butter cups, using a spatula to gently spread and cover all cups completely so none peek through.
- Bake – Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top looks set and a toothpick inserted into only the brownie portion (not the center) comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Slice – Let brownies cool in the pan at room temperature. Once cool, run a paring knife around the edges, then use the parchment sling to lift out. Slice into 16 even squares—each with a peanut butter cup in the center.
- Store – Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
Notes
- Make sure brownies are completely cool before slicing for clean edges.
- You can use any brand or type of peanut butter cup you prefer, or even swap for a different filling.
- Check your brownie mix instructions for exact egg, water, and oil measurements.
- For extra indulgence, add chocolate chips to the batter or drizzle melted chocolate on top.
