Description

M&M’s Marshmallow Dream Bars are a delightful no-bake treat combining rich semi-sweet chocolate, sweet butterscotch, creamy peanut butter, and gooey mini marshmallows, all topped with colorful M&Ms for a fun and chewy dessert bar that’s perfect for parties or anytime snacking.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Mixture

  • 12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 11 oz package butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

Add-ins and Toppings

  • 10.5 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick foil and set it aside. This will make removing the bars easier once they are set.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large microwave-safe container, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and creamy peanut butter.
  3. Microwave Mixture: Microwave the mixture on high in 30 second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each interval until all the chips have melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Add Marshmallows: Stir in the mini marshmallows until they are completely coated with the chocolate and peanut butter mixture.
  5. Transfer to Pan: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Add M&Ms: Sprinkle the M&Ms evenly over the top of the mixture, pressing them down slightly to ensure they stick.
  7. Refrigerate: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator and chill for about 2 hours or until the bars are firm and fully set.
  8. Slice and Serve: Once set, lift the bars out using the foil lining and cut into 36 bars.
  9. Store: Keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerated for freshness.

Notes

  • Use non-stick foil or parchment paper to line the baking dish for easy removal.
  • You can substitute creamy peanut butter with other nut butters if desired.
  • For a nut-free version, omit peanut butter and use additional chocolate and butterscotch chips.
  • Press M&Ms gently to prevent them from sinking or rolling off.
  • Chilling time is crucial for bars to set properly; do not skip refrigeration.
  • The bars can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
