Description
These Lemon Pepper Wings are a flavorful and crispy appetizer that’s perfect for game day or any occasion! Chicken wings are baked until golden brown, then tossed in a tangy lemon pepper sauce and broiled for extra crispiness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons canola oil (or your preferred high-heat cooking oil)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 3 1/2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning, divided
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice, plus additional lemon wedges for serving
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Prep and Bake: Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C) with racks in the center and upper third positions. Line a baking sheet with foil. Pat wings dry, trim off wing tips, and separate drumettes from flats. In a bowl, toss wings with canola oil, honey, and 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning. Arrange wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Broil: Move the pan to the upper third rack and broil for 2-3 minutes, or until wings are crispy and browned. Watch closely to prevent burning.
- Make Sauce: While wings bake, melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. In a large bowl, toss the cooked wings with melted butter, lemon juice, black pepper, and remaining lemon pepper seasoning.
- Serve: Transfer wings to a serving plate and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Storage: Store leftover wings in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
- Reheating: Bring wings to room temperature, then reheat on a baking sheet in a 350°F (177°C) oven until warmed through. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the wings before serving.
