Description

These Juicy Slow-Cooked BBQ Short Ribs are a melt-in-your-mouth delight, perfect for a special occasion or a casual gathering! Tender beef short ribs are seared and then braised in a rich and flavorful BBQ sauce until they’re fall-apart tender. Serve with your favorite sides for a truly satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 batch Cola BBQ Sauce
  • 4 lbs boneless beef short ribs, cut into 3-inch pieces
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 23 tablespoons avocado oil (or vegetable/canola oil), as needed

Instructions

  1. Prep BBQ Sauce: Make the Cola BBQ sauce and set aside to cool.
  2. Season and Rest Ribs: Season short ribs generously with salt and pepper. Let rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Sear Ribs: Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear short ribs in batches until deeply browned on all sides. Transfer to an oven-safe baking dish.
  4. Braise Short Ribs: Pour cola barbecue sauce over the ribs, ensuring they are coated. Cover tightly with foil. Braise for 3 hours, or until meltingly tender. Remove foil and continue cooking for another 30 minutes, or until slightly crisp and brown on top.
  5. Serve: Serve the BBQ short ribs immediately alongside your favorite side items (mashed potatoes, cornbread, coleslaw, etc.) or simply between two pieces of sandwich bread!
