Description

This Hot Onion Dip is a warm and cheesy delight that’s perfect for any party or gathering! Cream cheese, mayonnaise, and a blend of cheeses are combined with sweet caramelized onions for a flavorful and irresistible dip.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups grated Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Cut the onion into quarters, then thinly slice.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, Swiss cheese, and sliced onions. Mix well.
  3. Bake: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
  4. Serve: Let the dip cool for 10 minutes before serving with your favorite dippers, such as crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use a combination of different cheeses, such as Gruyère or fontina.
  • If you don’t have time to bake the dip, you can serve it cold or heat it in a saucepan on the stovetop over low heat.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh herbs, such as chives or parsley, for an extra touch of flavor and color.
