  • 3 cups cornflakes

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tablespoons hot honey

  • Sauce:

    • 3/4 cup hot honey
    • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Spicy Honey Mayo:

    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1 tablespoon hot honey
    • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prep and Preheat: Preheat air fryer to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil or spray with nonstick spray.
  2. Crush Cornflakes: Crush cornflakes into small pieces using a rolling pin or a food processor. In a bowl, combine crushed cornflakes with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Prepare Egg Wash: In a separate bowl, whisk eggs with 2 tablespoons of hot honey.
  4. Coat Chicken: Dip chicken pieces in the egg mixture, then dredge in the cornflake mixture, pressing to coat evenly.
  5. Air Fry: Arrange coated chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Make Sauce: While chicken is air-frying, combine hot honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and cayenne pepper (if using) in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
  7. Make Spicy Mayo: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, hot honey, and sriracha sauce.
  8. Assemble and Serve: Toss air-fried chicken nuggets with the hot honey sauce. Top with spicy honey mayo and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot.

  • You can use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts.
