Description

These Honey Garlic Chicken Bites are a quick and easy weeknight meal that’s bursting with flavor! Tender chicken is coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze with a hint of spice. It’s a simple and satisfying dish that’s perfect for serving over rice or your favorite sides.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
  2. Make Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Cook Garlic and Thicken Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Cook until fragrant. Pour in the honey mixture and bring to a simmer. Make a cornstarch slurry by mixing cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Pour the slurry into the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens.
  4. Glaze Chicken: Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook until heated through.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over cooked rice.

Notes

  • Cut chicken into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • Watch the sauce carefully to prevent burning or over-thickening.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions for added flavor and color.
