- 6 small potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 lbs ground beef, browned and drained
- 2 (10.5 oz) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Brown ground beef and drain any excess grease. Peel and thinly slice potatoes.
- Make Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir until well blended.
- Layer Casserole: Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer half of the potatoes, half of the ground beef, half of the soup mixture, and half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 90 minutes. Check potatoes for tenderness and bake for an additional 15 minutes if needed.
- Finish and Serve: Remove foil and top with remaining cheese. Bake for 15 minutes more, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let the casserole sit for 8-12 minutes before serving.
