For the Macaroni:
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
For the Hamburger Sauce:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, chopped (or mixed chopped green onion greens and yellow onion)
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- Pinch chili pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Start cooking the pasta: Boil water and cook macaroni according to package directions.
- Brown the beef and onions: Brown ground beef in olive oil, add onions, cook until soft.
- Add the seasonings and tomatoes: Season with celery seed, red pepper, and salt. Add tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer.
- Drain the pasta: Reserve some pasta water.
- Add the cooked pasta: Mix in drained macaroni and parsley. Cook briefly, adding pasta water if needed.
- Season and Serve: Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Enjoy!
