Sliders
- 1 (12-count) package King Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls
- 1 cup canned cranberry sauce (or leftover homemade cranberry sauce)
- 8โ10 slices black forest ham (or leftover ham or turkey)
- 6 slices pepper jack or swiss cheese
Herb Butter Topping
- 4 ounces (1 stick) salted butter
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon dried dill
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven and Pan: Line a medium cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil and preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- Prepare the Rolls: Remove the Hawaiian sweet rolls from their packaging without separating the individual rolls. Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the entire slab of rolls in half horizontally, creating a top and bottom slab.
- Prepare the Cranberry Sauce: Place cranberry sauce in a bowl and stir well until smooth. This helps ensure even spreading and a smooth texture in your sliders.
- Assemble the Sliders: Spread a generous layer of cranberry sauce over the bottom slab of rolls. Layer the ham slices evenly over the cranberry sauce, overlapping as needed. Place cheese slices over the ham, covering completely.
- Add the Top Slab: Place the top slab of sweet rolls over the layered ingredients, aligning it with the bottom slab.
- Prepare the Herb Butter: In a medium bowl, microwave the butter until melted (about 40 seconds to 1 minute). Stir in the grated parmesan, dried parsley, and dried dill to combine.
- Apply the Herb Butter: Pour or spoon the prepared herb butter mixture evenly over the top of the rolls. For more flavor, slightly lift the edges of the rolls to let some mixture seep beneath.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve: Remove from the oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve hot or cold, with extra cranberry sauce on the side if desired.
Notes
- Use leftover turkey instead of ham for variation.
- You can substitute the cheese type based on your preference.
- Keep an eye on the sliders in the oven to prevent over-browning.
- Great for making ahead and reheating before serving.
