Description

Garlic Fries are crispy, golden baked fries tossed with aromatic garlic, fresh parsley, and a touch of oil for a bold and savory flavor. This easy recipe transforms frozen fries into a delicious, restaurant-style appetizer or side dish that will be a hit at any gathering.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Fries

  • 28 ounce (794 g) bag of frozen french fries

For the Garlic Oil

  • 1/4 cup (59 ml) vegetable oil, divided
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 handful fresh parsley, finely minced

For Seasoning

  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450 ยฐF (232 ยฐC) and spray two baking sheets with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Coat the Fries: In a large bowl, add the frozen french fries. Drizzle half of the vegetable oil over the fries and toss well to coat evenly.
  3. Bake the Fries: Divide the fries evenly between the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the fries begin to brown and turn tender.
  4. Increase Oven Temperature: After 10 minutes of baking, raise the oven temperature to 500 ยฐF (260 ยฐC) and continue baking for another 7-10 minutes, until the fries are crisp and deeply golden brown.
  5. Prepare Garlic Oil: While the fries are baking, combine the remaining vegetable oil, minced garlic, and minced fresh parsley in a bowl. Mix thoroughly to distribute the flavors.
  6. Toss with Garlic Oil: Once the fries are cooked, immediately transfer them to the bowl with the garlic oil using tongs. Toss the fries until they are well coated with the fragrant oil and herbs.
  7. Season and Serve: Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the garlic fries hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For maximum crispiness, do not overcrowd the baking sheets.
  • You can substitute olive oil for vegetable oil for a richer flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and parsley to suit your taste.
  • Serve immediately to preserve the crispiness of the fries.
