Description

Juicy garlic butter steak bites paired with crispy cheesy smashed potatoes make for a savory and satisfying meal that will please any steak lover. This recipe combines tender sirloin steak with flavorful garlic butter, served alongside creamy smashed baby potatoes loaded with melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Steak Bites:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into cubes
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Smashed Potatoes:

  • 1 lb baby potatoes
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Smashed Potatoes: Boil baby potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and cool. Preheat a griddle. Smash the boiled potatoes, drizzle with olive oil, season, cook until crispy. Add shredded cheddar cheese, cook until melted. Garnish with chives.
  2. Prepare the Garlic Butter Steak Bites: Melt butter, sauté garlic, cook steak seasoned with salt and pepper until browned. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Steak Choice: Sirloin is suggested, but ribeye or filet mignon can be substitutes.
  • Cheese Substitution: Mozzarella or gouda can be used instead of cheddar.
  • Make-Ahead Tip: Boil and smash potatoes, cube and season steak in advance if desired.
  • Leftovers: Store in an airtight container. Reheat steak in a skillet and potatoes in the oven to maintain textures.
