Steak:
- 1 1/2 lbs NY Strip Steak
- 2 tbs low sodium soy sauce (or tamari)
- 2 tbs sesame oil (or olive oil)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbs ginger paste
- 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbs honey (optional)
Fried Rice:
- 6 cups cooked + cooled Basmati rice
- 2 tbs sesame oil (or olive oil)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 eggs
- 12 oz bag frozen vegetables, thawed
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbs butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbs ginger paste
- 1 tbs sesame seeds
Yum Yum Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbs Sriracha
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Steak: Whisk together the soy sauce, oil, garlic, ginger, Worcestershire, and honey in a small bowl.
- Fried Rice: Heat a griddle or two pans on HIGH for 4 minutes. Add sesame oil, rice, onion, and eggs. Cook for 3 minutes, tossing and mixing. Stir in the vegetables, then add soy sauce, butter, garlic, ginger, and sesame seeds. Cook for 5 minutes until a golden brown crust forms on the rice.
Slice the steak into small 1½ inch cubes. Transfer to a bag or bowl, toss to coat, and marinate in the fridge for at least an hour.
Move the rice aside, add the steak to the griddle, and cook for a few minutes per side.
Notes
- Cooled rice crisps up better when making fried rice.
