Description

This Crockpot Angel Chicken is an incredibly easy and flavorful recipe! Tender chicken breasts cook low and slow in a creamy sauce with garlic and Italian dressing mix. Served over angel hair pasta, this dish is perfect for a busy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped or left whole
  • 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup
  • 3/4 cup chicken stock
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 0.6 ounces Italian dressing mix (I used Good Seasons)
  • 1 pound angel hair pasta

Instructions

  1. Prep the Crockpot: Spray the inside of the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Add Ingredients: Place the chicken breasts and garlic in the crockpot.
  3. Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Whisk in the cream of chicken soup, Italian dressing mix, and chicken stock until well combined.
  4. Pour Sauce over Chicken: Pour the sauce over the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  6. Optional Shredding: About 30 minutes before the cooking time is finished, you can shred the chicken breasts with two forks and continue cooking in the sauce.
  7. Cook Pasta: Just before the chicken is done, cook the angel hair pasta according to package directions. Drain.
  8. Serve: Serve the chicken and sauce over the cooked angel hair pasta.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to three days. Freezing is not recommended as the sauce may become grainy.
  • Tips:
    • Spray the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray or use a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup.
    • Use the dry powdered Italian salad dressing mix, not bottled dressing. Do not prepare the dressing mix according to package directions; use it dry.
