- 16 ounces cream cheese
Add-Ins
- 8 ounces bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Colby Jack)
- ½ cup green onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Add Chicken to Crock Pot: Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of your crock pot to form the base of the dish.
- Add Liquids and Seasoning: Pour the chicken broth over the chicken breasts, then add the cream cheese and sprinkle the ranch dressing mix evenly on top. Do not stir.
- Cook the Chicken: Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 hours or on LOW for 6 hours until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Shred the Chicken: Remove the chicken breasts from the crock pot and shred them using two forks. Alternatively, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker if preferred.

- Add Cheese, Bacon, and Green Onions: Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese, cooked crumbled bacon, and thinly sliced green onions with the shredded chicken and sauce until well combined.
- Serve Warm: Serve the hot crack chicken mixture on sandwich buns or in bowls for a delicious, comforting meal.
Notes
- For a lower-fat version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and cheese, and turkey bacon instead of regular bacon.
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, add some red pepper flakes or chopped jalapeños when mixing in the cheese and bacon.
- Make sure not to skip shredding the chicken to achieve the best texture.
- This dish pairs well with rice, pasta, or fresh bread for serving options beyond buns.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
