Ingredients

Units Scale

Vegetables

  • 1 1/2 pounds (680 g) yellow potatoes, well-scrubbed and rinsed

For the Coating

  • 1/4 cup (57 g) butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oven & Pan: Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (204ยฐC). Set aside a 9ร—13 inch baking pan to use later.
  2. Wash & Cut Potatoes: Thoroughly scrub and rinse the yellow potatoes to ensure they are clean. Cut each potato into quarters, ensuring even pieces for uniform cooking.
  3. Prepare the Baking Pan: Pour the melted butter evenly into the bottom of the baking pan, ensuring it coats the surface. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese over the butter, followed by the garlic powder.
  4. Arrange the Potatoes: Place the quartered potatoes on top of the butter-cheese mixture in a single, even layer. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste over the potatoes.
  5. Bake: Place the pan on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, move the pan to the top rack and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes or until the potatoes are golden and crispy on the edges.
  6. Rest and Serve: Remove the pan from the oven and let the potatoes sit for about 10 minutes to allow the coating to set. Gently remove the potatoes from the pan and serve warm as a delicious, crispy side-dish.

Notes

  • Cooking time may vary depending on the size and thickness of the potato pieces.
  • The type of baking pan used (glass, metal, non-stick) can affect browning and crispiness.
  • For extra herbs and flavor, try adding chopped fresh parsley, thyme, or rosemary before serving.
