Description

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep Chicken: Cut each chicken breast in half to create thinner cutlets. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown Chicken: Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown chicken on both sides (about 5 minutes per side). Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Sautรฉ Aromatics: Reduce heat to medium. Sautรฉ onions in the skillet until translucent. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Add garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in poultry seasoning.
  4. Make Sauce: Pour milk into the skillet and stir. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the skillet and whisk constantly. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to a simmer, whisking until the sauce thickens.
  5. Simmer Chicken: Return chicken to the pan, reduce heat to medium, and simmer for 10 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and heated thoroughly.
  6. Serve: Serve the creamy chicken over rice or noodles and your favorite vegetables.

Notes

  • You can use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts, but adjust cooking time as needed.
