Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF and spray a 9ร13-inch baking pan or jellyroll pan with nonstick spray. Set it aside.
- Cook the ground beef: In a large pan set over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink. Break it apart as it cooks.
- Add taco seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning until evenly combined.
- Mix in cream cheese: Add the cream cheese to the pan and stir until it melts completely and is incorporated into the beef mixture.
- Incorporate sour cream and salsa: Stir in the sour cream and salsa until the mixture is evenly combined and heated through. Remove the pan from the stove.
- Add cheese: Stir the shredded pepper jack cheese into the mixture and mix until melted and well combined.
- Soften tortillas: Microwave the tortillas for 10 seconds to make them pliable.
- Assemble the taquitos: Place a tortilla on a clean work surface. Spoon a portion of the beef mixture onto one side of the tortilla. Roll it tightly and place it seam-side down in the prepared pan. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and beef mixture.
- Bake the taquitos: Bake for about 15 minutes or until the taquitos are crispy. Keep an eye on them to ensure they do not burn or dry out.
- Serve and enjoy: Serve the taquitos warm with your preferred toppings such as salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and shredded cheese.
Notes
- While they technically turn this dish into flautas, flour tortillas tend to tear less easily than corn tortillas.
- If youโre serving these at a party, offer all of the toppings in bowls! That way, everyone can pick and choose how theyโd like to enjoy their taquitos.
- Keep an eye on your taquitos. Once itโs been 15 minutes, they should be ready to go. Avoid overcooking to prevent burning or drying them out!
- Nutritional information does not include optional toppings.
- Storage: Store taquitos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven for best results.
