Description

This Air Fryer Chicken and Peppers recipe is a quick and easy way to enjoy a flavorful and healthy meal. Tender chicken and colorful bell peppers are cooked to perfection in your air fryer with a savory sauce, making for a delicious and convenient dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1 small red bell pepper
  • 1 small green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Cooked white rice, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Prep ingredients: Trim excess fat from chicken and slice into 1-inch cubes. Remove seeds and ribs from peppers and cut into 1-inch pieces.
  3. Marinate: In a bowl, combine chicken, peppers, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Toss to coat.
  4. Air fry: Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray. Add chicken and pepper mixture in a single layer. Cook for 6 minutes, shake the basket, and cook for another 5 minutes, or until chicken reaches 165°F.
  5. Serve: Sprinkle with brown sugar while hot and toss to dissolve. Serve over cooked white rice, if desired.

Notes

  • Marinate overnight for more flavor: For meal prep, marinate the chicken and peppers in the refrigerator overnight for deeper flavors.
  • Adjust cooking time: Depending on your air fryer, you may need to adjust the cooking time slightly.
  • Serve with: This dish pairs well with rice, noodles, or a side salad.
